God never intended for his children to face life alone. Even Jesus, when He sent His disciples to minister to others, always sent them in groups of two or more. God designed His church to operate as a whole body, with each person loving and supporting the others as it says in Ephesians 4:16.
Calvary Connections groups are designed with that same purpose, that is to build up the body of Christ. Home Fellowship groups are intended to be a place where you can make friends, laugh, learn and grow together.
The Bible tells us a lot about why God made us to be together, as a whole body of believers. Consider these reasons for joining a Calvary Connections Group:

Life can definitely have its ups and downs. It's good to have true friends pick us up when everyday difficulties seem to be knocking us down. |

"Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;
But how can one be warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.

JOIN FOR CHRISTIAN GROWTH AND MATURITY |

Becoming a true disciple of Christ is an on-going process of growth and development. One way we grow is to learn from and challenge each other. King Solomon, writing in Proverbs, captured this wisdom when he said: |

"As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens countenance of his friend." Proverbs 27:17 |

JOIN FOR ANSWERS TO PRAYERS |

| |
During his ministry, Jesus taught his disciples to pray, and just before he was crucified, Jesus prayed for each of us: |

"I do no pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in ME through word; that they may be one, as You, Father are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us that the world may believe that You sent Me."
John 17:20,21 |

As Jesus prayed for us, so we are encouraged to pray for each other, and to benefit from having others believers lift us to God in prayer. The Bible describes the effectiveness of prayer: |

"Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteos man avails much." James 5:16 |

JOIN FOR LOVE AND CELEBRATION |
|
| |
Life is truly made for sharing - we are all in it together. When things are tough, it's good to have support. And when it's time to celebrate, it's great to have friends to rejoice with us! |
